Behind the Scenes: A Day in the Life of a Florist

In Floral Affair 0 comments

When you think of flowers, you probably imagine something magical, enchanting, light, and lovely. We also see real magic in floristry. But when you work with flowers personally and know how all the processes go, you realise one thing. Beauty requires a lot of work and effort to get a perfect result. Not many people think about how flowers get to the boutique, how they are cared for. And also how florists arrange flowers into bouquets, having previously prepared them for that. This is something that no one talks about, but all these processes stand behind the creation of one bouquet.

At Flower Power, we love to share various tips and useful life hacks with you. This time, we want to show you the backstage and reveal what goes on behind the scenes of a flower boutique. If you're interested in flowers and floristry, you should definitely read to the end.

We are located in Dubai and offer the largest selection of the freshest flowers in the city. And we are very happy to welcome you.

Morning start: how the day begins at Flower Power

Some people start their day with a coffee and a croissant, others with a walk with their dog. But at Flower Power, we start our working day even before the doors open. The first step is to check the order schedule. The team gathers for a short briefing to check the requests for the day and determine who is responsible for which tasks. Next, we update the flower display. We make the space look perfect, because our showroom is a real photo zone that should look classy. And the last step before opening the doors is a thorough check of the refrigerated areas: the freshness of each flower is important.

From farm to our boutique

Every morning, Flower Power receives flowers — and not just any flowers, but premium blooms from the finest farms in the Netherlands, France, Italy, Ecuador, Kenya, Vietnam, and even Japan and Australia. All sourced from trusted, long-term suppliers.
The flowers are delivered in specialized refrigerated trucks to ensure that every stem arrives in perfect condition. We get straight to work: inspecting each variety with precision — from delicate eustoma to bold protea.

At Flower Power, freshness and quality are not just standards — they are our promise. Because we know that it’s the uncompromising beauty and longevity of our flowers that make you choose us over any other floral boutique.

How flowers are prepared to shine

After careful selection, each flower in Flower Power undergoes special care. After all, a flower is a natural being, which also needs to be taken care of. We clean the stems, cut the leaves, and remove all the excess. Then we moisturise and add nutrient solutions that prolong the life of each bud. But the real magic is in the right temperature. Each species has its own ideal environment, which is why we store flowers in climate-controlled storage rooms. This is necessary for the flowers in your bouquets to shine with beauty.

Secret part of working with flowers

Another part of a florist's job that no one talks about is content creation. But we will tell you about it! Flower Power has a team dedicated to creating aesthetically pleasing and inspiring content. We film new collections in a photo studio, in our showroom or outdoors. Our cameramen, photographers, brand stylists and, of course, florists work in synergy. And then our designer and editor manages to edit and prepare the photos and videos so that you can enjoy the content on our social media and website.

Helping you choose flowers

Of course, the main part of our work is creating bouquets and designer collections. We don't just offer flowers - we help you choose the right ones to match your occasion or mood. If you order on the website, our online team is always in touch to help you with the selection and fast delivery. If you visit the showroom in person, we will be happy to show you our existing collections and tell you about the trends in the world of floristry. We look forward to your visit in a floral paradise right in the heart of Dubai.
