Have you ever had flowers fade too quickly and you didn't enjoy their beauty enough? Or how about when you received a beautiful bouquet for a special occasion and didn't know how to properly care for it? Floral science is not easy, because each flower and plant requires its own individual approach, just like people.
That's why we at Flower Power are not just about floristry, we are about floral philosophy. For us, flowers are not just a plant, they are a way to express feelings and say āI love youā, āThank you for being there for meā, āI appreciate your supportā. Our mission is to take care of the flowers in the boutique in such a way that you, our client, would feel comfortable and easy to care for them at home.
Our florists are experts with 15 years of experience in Europe, so they know everything about flowers. They have created a small guide to care for different types of flowers in order to make your life easier. So we invite you to read it and hope it will help you to take care of your flower arrangements at home.
Hydrangeas - a choice with a character
Hydrangeas are luxurious shrubby flowers with large, voluminous inflorescences, usually in white, as well as in delicate and bright shades of pink, blue and purple. They are very moisture-loving, so it is important to provide them with plenty of fresh water when kept in a vase. It is ideal to pour 2/3 of the vase capacity. Flower Power experts advise you to cut the stem obliquely and pierce it from below to improve water absorption. The water should be changed daily. This flower loves coolness, so the bouquet should be placed away from direct rays in a cool place.
Preserving the fragrance and splendour of peonies
Peonies are a favourite among florists, known for their lush, fragrant buds. Their stems are thick, so they need careful pruning at a 45-degree angle and frequent refreshing of the cut. At Flower Power, we recommend removing the lower leaves that can get into the water. To extend the life of the flowers, you can keep them in cool water for several hours before placing them in a vase. Although peonies love light, they are vulnerable to overheating after being pruned. It is best to place the bouquet in partial shade or in a place with diffused light.
The grace of delphiniums in a vase
Delphiniums are long, graceful flowers with upright inflorescences of rich colours, adding dynamics and structure to a bouquet. Delphiniums can last from 8 to 12 days. These flowers are particularly demanding on the purity of the water, so it needs to be changed daily. It is better to dip the stems in hot water for a few seconds after cutting - this improves water conductivity. Keep them in a cool room without drafts. In our boutique, they are presented in Ocean, Mystic Petals, Champagne Sunset compositions and many others.
Elegant tulips
Tulips are symbols of spring and something new and delightful. They need fresh, cool water and pruning every 1-2 days. It's best to keep tulips in a narrow, tall vase that will help keep them in shape, as they continue to grow even after being cut. Avoid heat and sun - this causes the buds to open quickly. You can order these beautiful flowers in our Mono arrangements or in other bouquets, such as Graceful Petals, Sunbeam, Frankness, and others.
Keeping your favourite roses fresh
Roses are a timeless classic in the world of flowers, a symbol of love and elegance. To make roses last longer, the water in the vase should be changed once every 3 days. Roses love to be sprayed, so the bouquet should be sprayed, but only on the petals. You need to renew the cut of the stems with each water change.
We have the largest selection of roses in Dubai, from classic roses to shrub roses and French roses, combined into various compositions - delicate, passionate, bright, juicy. You just have to choose what you prefer.
Arrangements in a box: preserving beauty the right way
Arrangements in boxes are a present-day trend, when a bouquet is a complete gift. So, how to take care of it?
The main difference between flowers in a box and a bouquet is the presence of a floral sponge, which is pre-soaked in water and retains a certain amount of moisture. We advise you to keep an eye on the condition of the floral sponge, it should always be slightly damp, so water it in the centre of the bouquet if necessary. Try to make sure that the water doesn't get on the leaves and buds of flowers.
At Flower Power, we have a wide selection of bouquets in boxes, visit our page to get more information.
